"This clever invention will cut your hair drying time in half. Plus it's arguably chic enough to wear out on the weekends." Whimn

It's a bit like a gym towel, only one with a button, that you wear on your head. Whether you air dry or blow dry your hair, we all have generally a standardised process we follow inclusive of timings, brand preferences and methods.

After washing it, most of us apply a product based on the next steps – generally either a heat protectant, a leave in conditioner or a salt spray of sorts – to help the atmosphere or heated tool do the job effectively.

And while we are all well across the various ways high temps cause damage, surprisingly air drying can do a fair whack of harm to your hair. This is because for those of us who have forgone the hairdryer to let our mops dry out on its own accord, usually attempt to speed up the process with a vigorous upside down rub with a bath towel – therein lies the problem.

You see your hair is most fragile when it’s wet, which means when you roughly dry it with a regular towel, the shaft can be damaged during the process as you wring your hair out or squeeze it too hard. This can result not only in a worsening of split ends, but it can also exacerbate frizz – neither of which is ideal.

Likewise for those who do blow dry it, the aim of the game is generally to remove as much moisture as possible to speed up the drying time.

Nodding sagely? Yep, you probably need to upgrade your hair towel. And that’s where the microfibre turban comes in.

Similar to a shower cap, using it is easy. You simply wring out your hair gently (the operative word here is gently) by hand and then wrap your hair up and fasten it with a button at the nape of your neck. You then go about your business (which we’re assuming includes some number of beauty products being applied and coffee being drunk) while the towel does the work.

Functionality aside, they look pretty cool too, which means you can dry your hair off when you go for a dip, too (or at least take a getting ready pic for the ‘gram).
